Found this lens on ebay, it has such a small diameter and focal length it caught my curiosity, anyone have any ideas on what this lens might have been created for?

That it will do, I'm wondering what use such a tiny small beam might have, I suppose the applications could be numerous but with such a small lens, I'm guessing its power handling capability would be fairly small.
