I think a 3 mode driver would be of more interest to laser hobbyists but that is still a pretty cool find! Might work well for a 9mm build.
 
I was thinking the price was good, especially for a built unit. With very minor modification (which, admittedly, few people are capable of doing) the output current could easily be brought down to 1.8A.
