Hmmm makes me wonder which one is using legitimate specs though. The cheaper one claims average power rating of 10,000mw. Can that be real?

That company is pretty terrible. However, O-like, although not that great themselves has much better lasers for about the same prices. Their 532's are decent and have ir filters which is safer. any company claiming 10,000mW 532's is full of BS.

I would of pulled it from CNI's website but can't access it. This is the same as CNI though :)

Laserglow Technologies

Edit: Basically for 532's count $1/mW so around $10,000 for 10W's of 532.

So does a 3000mw, 450nm laser really have all that much more bad-assery as opposed to maybe even a 500mw or 1000mw laser?

This is what I'm looking to buy:

3000mw 450nm Skidproof Blue Laser Beam Laser Pointer Pen Silver at Laserpointerpro.com

Yeah I wouldn't trust that laser or that site but to answer your question, if the specs are accurate then the answer is yes. I have a 445nm that is about 3000mW or a little more and it's bad-assery level is way higher even than my 1.5W M140, although I also have a 450nm that meters at 1913mW and has a smaller beam therefore higher power density so it's almost as bad ass. They require extreme caution, they are a fire hazard.

You can have a member here make a host for you and buy a high power blue laser diode module from DTR and have a working laser in 10 minutes of assembly time. You are assured to get much more power that way than something from China on ebay, I think. My personal choice is green, blue is only about 10% as bright as green is to the eye, milliwatt to milliwatt. Although if you are looking for something powerful to burn with, blue is the most economical.

Compare: Relative Laser Beam Brightness Calculator: (458nm 1mw) vs. (419nm 1mw)
