wondering how big part of the description ti true...
ONLY 2 years from first blue LED to 445nm LD :wtf:? [have I missed something?]
That part is true, Shuji made the first blue LED at the end of 1993/beginning of 1994, and the first blue laser diode in 1995/1996, very close to 2 years later. The papers for the LED and the laser diode were published in 1994 and 1996 respectively, so I'm sure that's where they're getting the number, which is correct in this case.
Also, "blue laser" often refers to lasers in the blue end of the spectrum, including blue and violet, so the violet in Blu-Ray is often called "blue" as well, just because it's not red and is at the blue end of things.

And yeah, it's maybe a bit overpriced, but this is a store that won't be selling to people who know any better, they can afford to sell at a bit of a premium because they hit an audience that will buy such things anyway.
And they're probably not using the Casio diodes, there are any number of sources out there for blue diodes outside that projector. Heck, I want this laser, but I'll probably get it in Glenn's groupbuy.
