The square plastic LD's CAN be put to use

I'v tried to put a square plastic diode into a DX key chain laser. They all use laser chips so they have a slit cut into the housing. You can replace the chip with a square diode and some metal spacers to jam it in. it was running pretty good at about 120mw. Transfered heat to the case well too. unfortunatly i shorted out the driver and fried the LD.
