FS: The "Phobo-Stream" 1W+ 638nm Red w/ Magic! (Polarity Free)
This is my favorite build so far.... well, at least until the next time I decide that something is my "favorite build so far". She's a special one. A large part of the credit for this creation is really owed to Eud, who made the fantastic custom "Phobos" host, within which this build was born. Right up front I'll say that it's Eud who deserves the praise for a host design that really loves dissipating heat.
The build uses one of the new higher-output open-can Mitsubishi diodes, with a 650-G lens, and a very very special driver. This build uses a unique driver from a new series that I've sort of jokingly dubbed "Magic" drivers (the name is actually starting to grow on me). The driver doesn't care about battery polarity. When I say that it "doesn't care", I really mean it. There is no polarity to this build. Forget worrying about driver or diode damage from a backwards cell. Forget "reverse polarity protection" that merely gives you a heart-attack in those few seconds between when your build doesn't power up and the point where you realize your cell is in backwards. Most importantly, forget about battery polarity altogether. This build has no "backwards"

She's pretty stable, holding in the 1W+ range for the entire 2 minute duty cycle. Power comes from a single 18350 cell (not a type, that's 18350). But of course, if you want to use a CR123 / 16340, that is fine also. Use a good cell, particularly if going for the smaller 16340 instead of an 18350.
Price is: $375 + shipping.
Price lowered: $340 + shipping
I always ship via fully tracked and insured methods. Please PM me for a shipping quote.
You MUST own laser protection goggles appropriate for this wavelength, and
You MUST be over 20 years of age, and
You MUST be familiar and experienced with the appropriate safety precautions to take with lasers of this power.
You MUST NOT be a resident of Canada
This is not a laser pointing device. At all times, protective laser safety glasses appropriate for this wavelength must be worn by the operator. This laser should not be used around 3rd parties (non-operators) pets, or for any recreational purpose.
