T1 lens question

There is a video showing the improved output obtained using a T1 lens from Rick Trent here:

I'm interested in increasing the output of my 445 which is using a G9 but I'm not sure how to find more information about the whole topic. Searching on the forum doesn't allow short 'words' like T1 and G9 and G2 so finding some relevant threads has proven fruitless.

Can anyone point me to some info or discuss it on this thread?

The aixiz 2 element lens shown in the video passes less light than a G9. I don't think it gets better than a G9, but I might be wrong.

I am just saying the comparison in the video doesn't apply to you because your current g9 already surpasses the base 2-element used in the video



Also, you can put in "g2 lens" in the search bar too.

Yes, I'm thinking that my G9 is better than the Aixiz but how would it stack up against the T1? Such a comparison may not be meaningful or even make sense... just trying to get an understanding of all the variables and options.

I did actually try to put 'G9 lens' and many other similar variations into the search bar, it would give results but would also list the words that were removed because of being too short, etc. The end result would be as if I had only entered the word 'lens.' This is stated in smaller font so I didn't catch on to that for a while.

If there was a lens better than the G9 then we would be using it. It is safe to assume that this "t1" lens is the same as or more likely worse than your G9

the T1 lens holder is bigger then some lens holders that are for sales, uses the same glass

I was able to find some of the other forum members doing some comparisons of the T1 vs other lenses here:

They also get into some of the technical specs involved and how these affect performance. This is a bit more what I was hoping to find.

KRNAZNBOY, thanks for the input and I know you were trying to help. From the perspective of someone trying to get educated, saying that if there was something better than the G9 then we would be using it doesn't really explain *why* it's considered better (which is subjective and context-sensitive anyway). Again, not trying to sound like a jerk, just offering another viewpoint. However, based on the thread link above, you were right about the T1 being pretty much the same as the G9.

For me, my questions about the T1 have been answered.

The G1, G2, G9, T1 lens' are all the same thing pretty much. The difference between the lens' are so small that you wouldn't even notice it. I'm pretty sure the T1 is just a G1/G2/G9 in a different holder anyway.

You can buy different holders for different lens' which can affect the output and focusing in a few cases, but as for the actual glass there is very little different with them.
