Super Beast Green

I'm pretty excited. My superbeast #100 going to be in my mailbox in a matter of minutes.

I also went to battery junction and ordered 3.6v batteries to see if I can get a boost in power. Batteries will be in the mail today too.

I'll post something again in after my mail comes.

awesome! I still need to order one of these. Let that beast warm up a little when you get it and then hopefully..
:lasergun:

Just got my super beat today. Came with a nice panasonic 3.0v Primary. Just checking I'm supposed to put the battery in negative side in first right? (The flat side to the spring) my first PCL style host :P

Will do, and I like your animation! lol

I am fairly new to this hobby, but so far have WL arctic, and a 1000mw 447nm from dinodirect. I still haven't figured out how to add my list of lasers to my signature when I post like everyone else.
Any pointers?

Tracking number for mine says out for delivery so when I get home I will put my fresh batteries in it and run it on the LPM.

Hey TTG -- nice to see you over here; you'll find a LOT of really helpful and knowledgeable people on LPF!

I'm still waiting to get my #100 .. should be here in a day or two...

Oh hi Bobby, yeah, I'm glad I discovered this forum. I think I saw Tatman on here too.

I just got mine in the mail. I've tried it out, and it is pretty bright for a $27 dollar laser!

I passed the beam through the focusing lens that came with the arctic and it smoked black cardboard instantly.

I haven't tried it out with the ultrafire 3.6v protected batteries, but they did arrive, and are in the charger. I'll post about it again in a while when they are charged.

Being my first 532nm, I am really happy with it!

Am very curious about the results it's going to get when someone gets it on a LPM!

Signature, yea.. just look on the left side of your User Control Panel and you'll see "edit signature". To get the User Control Panel just click the "User CP" link up on the menu bar (scroll up.. look left).

Glad to see you got ur Beast. Enjoy sir, and be careful. That thing is packing some power and is NOT IR filtered. I looked at the IR through a Find-R-Scope and it looks to be collimated almost as well as the green beam, though, which means that you at least know where it's going. Get you some goggles if you don't have them already!

Gonna happen tonight if my tracking number is right. The batteries are charging and after I get home and spend a few minutes with the wife I will measure the beast 100 Vs the regular beast with both 3.7 CR123 batteries and the regular on it comes with.

Awesome. I really like this little #100. It's kind of cute, ans seems like something I could carry around in my pocket all the time.

I am starting to realize that collecting lasers is very much addicting. I can see why they fascinate so many people on this forum.

I'm at the point where I really want to dive in and try building my own. Nothing fancy or expensive, just one for practice at first. I don't have a soldering gun yet, but they are just a few bucks at harbor freight. No vise here either, would have to drive 15 min and use my dads, or just get a cheap one at harbor freight.

I already took apart my old dvd burner to look for the red diode, but instead of having three pins on the back, it had a BUNCH of pins.

Thanks for your help here with the signature. Added a profile pic while I was at it. lol

Fortunately, I do have some goggles. The ones that came with the arctic, and some better ones I got from ebay a couple weeks ago.

Ok after testing a few different batteries I found as we all know batteries make a big difference. Below are what I found stable for the three batteries I tested.

.........................Regular Beast................#100
Stock Battery.............40mw....................83mw
Used CR123A .............55mw....................97mw
Full Charged CR123A ...83mw....................118mw

Full charged #100 ~14mw IR

Ok after testing a few different batteries I found as we all know batteries make a big difference. With the battery that came with it I found the original beast became stable at 40mw and the 100 became stable at 83mw with the rechargeable that I have been using the original I got 55mw and 97mw stable finally with a fresh charged battery I measured 83mw and 118mw stable.
Your primary & rechargeable numbers mirror mine on the #6 .. I'm still waiting for the #100 to put the fresh charge on the Tenergy's -- also, I hear they do not deliver full-power until they've been drained & charged a few times ... ?
