Super Beast Green

^ they run at 1.85 volts fully charged, but they have poor quality control issues and suffer from a short life and often random rapid discharge.

On a random note, I checked the divergence and it seems to be around .84 mRads. This was over 40 feet, ugly oval dot but great divergence. This is on the super beast #100 006 with the fat head.

Just a heads up this just in from IQS:

I e-mailed them last night asking which one is there absolute most powerful laser and received this response back:

Hi, we just upload 200mw one which is the strongest!

The link to that laser is here:

Deluxe Adjustable #200 Green Laser Pointer 3998 Burn - eBay (item 120675695006 end time Feb-22-11 21:47:09 PST)

Apparently the "#" attached to each laser is code for its power in Mw.

For $110 bucks though, it better be true 200mW. Nice host too.

If it turns out to be 200mW with <20% IR, its a decent deal at $110, could go down a bit more though. Would be a deal if its crazy overspec like 250-275mW.

Id be surprised if the #200 is up to spec. But ive been surprised by this seller before...whose going to be the first to find out?

Just contacted IQS about the #200, I asked:

Is this laser "True" 200mW??

They Respond:

Hi friend,
It's really 200mw. and only 4 left...
Thanks

So they claim its a "True" 200mW Laser. We'll see.

I need this like I need a hole in the head but I've wanted a decent powered green for awhile....

I just pulled the trigger on this bad boy myself...welllllll seeeeeeeeeeeee! :eg:

I do have an LPM and plan to thoughly test its 532nm output, IR output and calulate divergence once I get it.

I see he has the #150 for $76 now. I may go for that since it's still a nice power and less ouch on the wallet.

Looking forward to your review with LPM measurements. I too like this host and have a plethora of rechargeable CR123As.

I noticed that too and almost popped for it until I saw the #200 show up.

Hopefully these keep coming out overspec but on these higher powers im quite skeptical.

Well I decided on the #150. I just couldn't justify the cost for the #200. It should be here Friday. I'll report back with LPM readings when it arrives.
