Strange Readings

When I test the test load under the diode setting, it gives me the proper reading. The test load seems to work adequately. I had an old diode that I knew worked so I twisted the pot to the stop (Clockwise) My reader read 2.5mV I hooked the diode to the driver and no light. Hmmm Didn't LED or anything.

Really don't know what It isn't lighting, or at least blowing up.

"So the machine is full of water ... there should be a small hatch on the lower front of the machine ... yes the thing in there is a filter to protect the drain from cloging up with cloth bits. ... it unscrews.

This is just like that, only with electricity and lasers. Or troubleshooting computer hardware problems over the phone with family.

Toaster, what is the voltage drop of the linear driver that you bought?

Yes that is the same ones I purchased.

I'd like to see if anyone else here has worked with these drivers.

I bought these drivers myself and can't get them to work properly either. I talked to Chuck at AixiZ and he refunded my $. He also doesn't know anything about them. I asked him a few questions and he had to ask the manufacturer and got back to me. I asked him who the manufacturer was so I could talk to them directly and I haven't heard yet, that was over a week ago so I'm just chalking it up to "you get what you pay for". I doubt I will ever use them

I've used rckstr drivers, flexdrives, LM317's, microdrives and have NEVER had a problem. Only with these "red drivers" or whatever they are have I had issues.

Could be. I tried messing around with it a few weeks ago so I don't have the figures but if I remember correctly I could only get about 30mA out of of and the pot did nothing to change the current.

I haven't had time to try different things with it but in the future I'm sticking to a linear drivers I build or good ol' drlava's stuff ;)

ok, So its not just Me :)
How can I get ahold of Chuck

I have 2 I'm gonna try tomorrow. Here are the specs Chuck sent me.

1.Suitable for 20mw-250mW 650nm,660nm,808nm,980nm
laser diode.
2.Constan current output to assure a stable power output by
4.0V-5.0Vinput.
3. Has outlet for connecting TTL device.
4.Size:10mmx19mm(WxL)
6.Recommended Power Supply: 3.7V-4.2 Li battery such as
16430,18650,14500 and 18500 or Pre-set lab power.

Darn cat swiped my test load as a toy and played soccer with it I guess. Have make another.......

When I worked with you in the other thread you said you got it working when I told you the adjustable LD- is the Null pad.

I know That ONE did but I cant replicate it with any of my other ones.

I know the specs. I am saying that some worked and some didn't. They don't work. Can someone tell me how to get ahold of Chuck?

It was with the 9v. But YOur specs say that is WAY too much. I also got it to work with the 18650s. Bu then the next time I turned it on the driver "Reset"

Will you please tell me how to get ahold of Chuck?

Excuse me? Those aren't MY specs. That is whats on the pdf that Chuck sent me.
They have a toll free number on their website and I'm sure a link from their ebay'd store.

Don't be sassy. :) I Your specs as in the ones you gave me. :) it says 4-5v. 9v is almost double the maximum.
