Oh, is there another type of batt i could use so that i wouldnt need 5?

What should i use to mount this inside, if not a flashlight?

Did you not check the link?  The flashlight uses 2 Cr123 3V batts.  

Or you can go my route (click "see" on my sig) although it's not as pretty but VERY reliable and with my custom build, the battery never leaves the laser and last a really LONG time with a single charge (but it is a $25  6 cell batt.) ;)
