Something interesting about Newgazer 7A75

Ok, I see what you meant, you can only order NOS 7A75's and they are really expensive.
Cost is the biggest factor, there are all kinds of ideas I have but what really matters to most is low cost and that will be the driving force in most cases, all the concepts of fancy fixes are mostly academic as long as there is a cheaper option, even if it includes a compromise.

Hi Red
I was checking out those prices the cheapest one I seen was 75 bucks.
I have a few builds with them and sure do miss them when DTR was selling them. Here is a pic of one in a custom with a projector lens I adapted to the focus adapter.. Itburrns well over 30 ft.

Rich:)

I'm running mine at 4.0a with a G7 and 3X beam expander, it has less total power than the 44 diodes I have in the same set up, but the divergence is better, I want to try a 7A75 with a G2 and 4X cylindrical pair to make a fixed beam burner.

It should make a beam like the 6X corrected nubm44 only 4.75 mm wide rather than 7mm wide like this 44 with a G2 and 6X pair in the pic below, and 5w rather than 7, but it will do just fine, and there's something nice about a strong fixed beam burner that you can just point and use. :D

p.s. I think I will make it a bit smaller, maybe use 3 x 18500 cells.

Hi Red,
That should work out great with the 7A75 @ 4A /G2/, believe it with this lens on this build I was surprised at the outcome. Just need to measure the beam with the lens,

Rich:)
