Solderless Connections, Anyone Tried?

You could always use sockets? like the ones from thorlabs.... although a bit pricey

I use the SR9a holders in my lab screwed into a collimation tube.

Worth it for the peace of mind i guess...

Soldering must-haves:

-decent iron with small tip
-solder flux (highly recommended for beginners!!)
-solder wire
-desoldering braid

i have never used flux or paste. i use 60/40 rosin core solder. rosin core has the flux inside the solder wire.
