Will that TR-801 host hold an 18650 battery? And is the heatsink for a press-fit diode or does it fit an Aixiz module? My diode is already pressed into an Aixiz and I don't know if I'm willing to chance pulling it out :s

It's for a module ;)
Unprotected fits perfect but protected can be extremely tight...

Hmm I don't think my battery is protected.. but I don't know? I bought it from DTR, here are some pics

It measures 3.25" in height and 0.9" wide.

DTR doesn't usually use protected batteries & your picture is not showing :(.

I can include a battery that will fit for you for an extra 2$ but will have to use ground shipping. ;) if you are in the US ground is not that slow at all ;)

D'oh, pics are posted now. Let me know if that will work, and failing that try the measurements. $2 is not bad at all though, what type of battery is it?

The one you have there seems to be a Sanyo 2600mA, it's a mighty fine battery & my personal favorites for the price, I was going to include a 2000mA IMR battery... But your battery will fit fine ;)
