SOLD: $65 9mm Nichia NDB7875 diodes

Re: $65 9mm Nichia NDB7875 diodes

Received my two today. Great packaging, well done transaction. Thank you for the great deal. Now I've just got to figure out how to remove the lens holder from the diode. Anyone here have any good tips? Maybe a Dremmel tool with cutting disk? Surely there's a thread on the forum on how this is best done, will give the search function a whirl I guess.

Thanks again!

Got it today, fast shipping, well protected, thanks. too bad I have no way to test it.

peters, I may be interested in at least one of those. Will get back to you when I have more time. Thanks, Paul

peters, I changed my mind. If you have any left send me your email address so I can send you payment. Thanks, Paul

I have 2 left, so do you want both? I'll shoot you a message with payment info.

John, the money is sent. you should have it shortly. Thank you, I thought I was too late to take advantage of this unusually exceptional offer. Gratefully, Paul

I lost one at 2.25Amps with just a few weeks of minor use and 1-2 minutes run, Second one zombied recently @2.5A in a copperhead host after a 6months of rough use (1-2min) total of 5-6hours of use. Both were bought in a similar GB bloompyle did about a year ago.

So it's not just me, that's a relief. These diodes might live long enough at lower currents and copper sinks.

WOW! I have one of these and an MS-SSW-II coming to put it in and now I am very concerned about this diode! I thought that these were unused LDs removed from a projector and would be an excellent buy. Now, I'm not so sure. I guess I will have to wait and go ahead with the build and see what happens. I'm hoping against hope that this is just an outlier and not an example of things to come.

Thanks, sinner. I was more concerned by shakenawake's comments than yours, but you're right. I will assume nothing until I get my build finished.

It's definitely unused diodes from the projectors and you definitely did an excellent purchase. It was never implied that these diodes are fragile , rather a statistic I though worth sharing.

After these two aforementioned events, I find it really interesting how we keep pushing the amps to the max and still expect the diodes to live a lifetime. I think the datasheets recommend 1.6Amp for a reason that's all.
