Hey guys, the time has come to sell off this little beast. I realized I hadn't touched it in forever and I figured that it could use a better home somewhere else :)

It's got a few hours tops of use on it (I bought it with a few hours use on it and probably added 2-3 more). It was constructed originally by the legendary (and recently disappeared) Igor and then upgraded by our lovable Dave. It still works like new! A link to videos is here:

Here is the link to the original sale that I jumped on:

Send me offers. I will include the battery and a lens cover. Shipping will be included with whatever price you offer me! Serious offers only please

May I inquire what upgrades Dave performed?
Was this the standard build you ordered?
He had all sorts of diodes available.
Btw.....this is beautiful :eg:

-thanks

I believe (but am not sure) that he upgraded the diode to a high efficiency 12X diode. I bought it from rtyrty100 as it is currently! It's a great laser :)

wow you paid a pretty penny 1 year ago for a 12x... good for us, bad for you that 12x sleds popped up and dropped the price of 12x 405's. I got that host in several colors...makes for an awesome laser, just a bit tight. And making heatsinks for that thing without a lathe is a huge PITA.

Yep... Well I mean think about it--if you had told me you could get your hands on a 1 Watt blue laser for under $300 a year ago I would have told you to give me some of the stuff you were on because it probably was some crazy %$*&!!

Igor's heatsink makes this baby have no duty cycle :) that's part of what makes it a great laser!

Igor's work is without a doubt some of the best the handheld laser community has ever seen. I truly wish I had the money to nab this off of you, as it's a piece of history, not many are around now that were around when Igor built these lasers and they're definitely worth every penny. I wish you a fast sale and that it goes to a home where it will be as well treated and well used as it deserves.

its kinda sad how quickly things lose value...thats what sucks about electronics. it depreciates like a mofo. goodluck with your sale man.

P.S. How'd Igor make his heatsink...theres not much room in there. Mine gets hot after 2 minutes. then again its 650mW.

I was gonna ask in a PM, but decided info might help other people as well...

1. What batteries does it use (CR123)?

2. Can you take a picture of if getting LPMed to confirm that it still puts out 550mW? The 550mW lpm result was from over a year ago... in the linked thread.

Thanks.

These use 1x 14500.

Re: FS: 550mW 405nm 12x blu-ray!! **Built by Igor and Dave**

Is there are universal charger that can handle all battery types? Batteries aren't that big a deal, but I already have too many charger lying around.

Re: FS: 550mW 405nm 12x blu-ray!! **Built by Igor and Dave**

I have an Enercell charger that does Nimh's and Li-ion. 1.2V batteries, 3.7V, even 7.4V (for packs or camera batteries). cost me 35 bucks... slides to fit. only stupid thing is, it doesnt fit 18650 batteries. any size under fits. even fits those annoying cr2 batteries without a spacer.

@steviedezie

Can you give me a link to it plz. I have a charger that does a decent job for 18650's but all the other ones, aside from AA, AAA, and CR123 I'm currently not equipped to handle.

:o I'm paranoid :(

I got another laser, and unfortunately it is not in spec, turned out to be 1.2W peak vs what it was supposed to be... 1.5W stable. I may be able to do something by turning up the current but don't want to mess with it. So now I'm a bit more cautious.

Thanks for the pic.

It's no problem :) I understand how paranoia can arise in this hobby. I was just giving you a hard time :yh:
