Things can sometime get so confusing...and I forget!

Exactly what Diode / Sled is in those Toshiba SD-H802A HD DVD rom drives?

I still have two drives sitting here Unharvested....and forget what these diodes are or can do (mW).

I also have a single 6X sled. The only tag on it reads (TopLine of text) 7H20 (Next line) 0000 (next Line)0203.

THe single sled is definately different that the sleds in the HD DVD rom drives....BUT

Are they all the same diode????

Yes ..I feel Stupid and behind the times...but work makes hobbies take a back seat...so I get cut out of the loop information wise.

Thanks!!!

The SD-H802A will have either a PHR-803T or a DT-0811 sled in them.

The numbers are different in/on different sleds for the 4X's and 6X's.  Does it have a "finned" heat sink covering the violet diode's pins?  Can you post a picture of the sled?

Peace,
dave

They are PHR-803T sleds......

I got the sleds out of the drives tonight..

So what are the diodes?

I believe they are 4X diodes....150mW Or there abouts ....

Can you confirm?

Larry

The diode in a PHR-803T is different from a 4X or 6X diode. PHRs are usually good up to about 100mA of current, which gives 70-90mW of output..
