I just got a few small TEC plates. 10 x 10 x 3.4 mm in size
at 1.1 volts --- 1 Amp at 1.7 volts ---- 1.5 Amps.

Now I have to find an easy way to put them in a BR or Cmount build.

Squeeze that puppy into a handheld. I just have to finish the wiring for a 12x and TEC driver.
The mount was 2/3 the battle.

I was looking at some TECs that size on ebay I believe. Where did you get yours & for how much?
Quite interested in these little TECs, wish I had more time. Please let us know how your builds come along HMike & Wannaburn

If you have some extra, it is always a good idea for DIY LPM project!

Bill has used one of those and contructed two kind of LPM,
One was with analog panel from old multimeter,
and other was LPM adapter for DMM,
Both very good and stable up to 0.5 W measurement.

LPM adapter is all I have ATM for measuring lasers, but it seems quite good.
TEC is used in Laserbee I after all :D

So they use 2.5W, but they're only 10-20% efficient, aren't they? Most Bluray and reds emit more than 1/2W of heat.

I planned my project for a while and the first TEC I tried was very poor at doing its job. It looked similar to the common TEC's available on ebay..

Though from the ones tested, the one I found that worked the best was from a TEC cooled 5W 808nm LD.

It uses less than half the current to provide sufficient cooling/heating. Im guessing if you pay less than 50$ for a micro sized TEC, dont expect to run it off a single battery, and perform is job well.

In my set up, both a 500mW 12x and the TEC will be feeding off a single 3.6v lith. I had to use the best TEC I could find for the project. Typical 10-20$ TEC's just wouldn't cut it.

The first TEC tested ran just under 1v at 1.5A, to get the same amount of cooling, the better TEC gave the same results with similar voltage, but only used 500mA, and in the current set up, 350mA powered by an AMC7135.
