Small driver needed.

I need two drivers for a build coming up and they need to be fairly small and cheap. They need to be in the 40 to 50mA range. I'm still new to this so I don't whats out there driver wise. The ben boosts are the perfect size, except for the disclaimer that they wont work with red diodes. Which unfortunately is half of what I need it for. Will be from 2 AAs so 3 volts, or a single lithium if needed. Some of the threads I found about small drivers were from years ago. So I was wondering, whats out there now that will work?

Im thinking about buying some cheep green pens and pulling the drivers. Should work right?

Yes green pens use a IR diode which is the same chemistry as the red diode I do believe so they should work for you and get ones that have a pot so you can adjust them

How would I know whether it has a pot or just resitors? Do you know of any with pots? Its for one of those PHR-803t 650/780s. Need two drivers. 1 for each laser chip. Should be a neat laser if I can get it working properly.
