Here is the 589 yellow laser review by xm360, i know many people are pursuing high output lasers, but a 5mw yellow laser is much more beautiful than a 5w 450nm blue laser, the bright blue laser beam may let you scared, but this yellow laser just let you feel warm.

 





Very nice video review tommy (XM360), this looks to be a very high quality laser pen. I like that the size is larger than the "normal" pen lasers.
I think this should appeal to a lot of people who are wavelength collectors, but like to stick with the low output power units.

Is this particular CNI host available with a higher power 589nm? Nothing like the bigger 80-100mW in a larger host, but around 30-40mW or so?
Also would a CNI 593.5nm laser be available in this host?

The 593.5 pens don't come in that host unfortunately, they come in (at least what I consider) the sleekier 2xAAA host. Similar to DragonLaser's Viper pens, which are 532's. AFAIK only 640, 532 & 593.5 come in the AAA host, all others come in that 589 host.

You can have higher powers in that pen, although I believe they are only sold as 2-5mW pointers. But knowing CNI, it's possible to have some peak in the upper teens :)

I like the little laser a lot. Why is it that people who can't think of another way, seem to always go to the bathroom and run the shower until it fills with water vapor to get beam shots? It's pretty hokey. CNI still makes a nice pointer. It's too bad that we can't get therm in the higher powers, but modules are just fine. Thanks for sharing it.
 
That could be the best way to show the laser beam. But your question is great, we have limited ways to show the laser beam and the power, just burn something and even ordinary items. I believe we have a better way to do it. i will dig in.

a little bit fatter than normal pen style laser, because of the cr2 battery battery. not sure if that battery is normal in your local store, we here only can buy from online, we can't find it in normal stores. the power test from CNI is 8mw, and if you want higher output, you need to get the laser module, which the price is another store.

CNI 589nm GLP pointers have Been available for a while.

thanks Encap. If we can get cheaper 589 diode, we can pull the price down, don't know where to get it.
 
Well 589nm is DPSS, which is 808nm -> Nd:YAG -> 1064nm+1319nm -> KTP -> 589. That's been the only option for these thus far. And right now, there are no diodes in that color spectrum.

Anything between 540nm and 622nm is untouched by diode manufacturers

As has been mentioned there are no 589nm diodes just like there are no 532nm diodes --they are DPSS lasers not direct diode lasers.

You could always buy and resell/offer the CNI PGL-III-M 589 30mW and 50mW also, which take a 18650 battery. Same as CNI supplies to Dragon Lasers to resell if you want to match what Dragon Lasers offers.
DL offers 3 589nm CNI pointers.
$299 for the GLP-589,
$359 for the PGL-III-M 589 30mW and
$499 for the PGL-III-M 589 50mW
