translation: A while back, a certain person made a post in mutlimedia and made a machine that controlled a laser through a computer that could burn black foam and he made a square type thing. Anyone remember? If anyone knows the guy's name, let me know, thanks. ;)

no offence intended, i just like solving these kinds of things. ;)

I know
He seems to be talking about a scanner... probably the lanling RGY since its fairly common. and Things has one and did burn black foam with it.

glona, it was Things, and he didn't make the machine, he bought it. That scanner plus the stuff to connect it to the computer cost around $500.

No, it was a red laser in an Aixiz housing someone hooked up to a printer or something and used it to cut shapes out of black foam... I couldn't find it but maybe someone else remembers...

Those are both awesome videos BTW...

hmm I've seen pen plotters which have an electromagnetic hand that picks up a round plastic pen and draws the intended shape on a large piece of paper. I don't forsee it being too difficult to make the hand pick up the round aixiz housing instead of a pen. So yeah sounds very likely :) cool...

btw the commercial laser engraving machines that you see at market stalls use a similar concept except that the laser being used is CO2 and it can engrave very well on wooden or metal surfaces.

just a question but why don't you spellcheck what you type? it's a pain to try and read through that

a heads up, please download Mozilla Firefox new version which has a spell checker. i haven't made a spelling error since : P

I think glona may be working his way towards a ban if he keeps this up. It doesn't make me feel any better thinking that I'm either helping a five year old, or a 12 yr old that simply can't be bothered spell checking.

yea, but i do know some old people who just plain out cant type. : P and yea, i don't think a 12 year old should have his hands on that kind of dangerous force.
