Yello,
I 'm new here, I found laserpointforums while I was searching for a good red laser module. I found this dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10095 which I fell in love with and this sales.stonetek.org/ldi.html which I really like but I m not in love with it. :D
I don't really care about the driver circuit because I can make my own easily.
The price is roughly the same but I cannot figure out how much the shipping cost will be for stonetek to send it here in Greece with FIRST CLASS/AIR MAIL.
I would prefer the senkat's module because I 'm sure that it would be better compared to that of dealextreme's concerning the quality of the diode.
Which one should I buy? Oh and senkat's diodes are from sony dvd writers so their mWs must be pretty much the same with the same feeding (by feeding I mean the same volts and amperes etc but I can't find the word), right?
Great forum by the way.

you'll have to wait on senkat for shipping prices but what i think is that u could probably take the red laser module and even replace it with a senkat diode if you want later

I thought that and it's a good option but I don't want to spend many euros. I don't really need two diodes. I think I will wait. Because I am planning to buy some more stuff from dealextreme and I have already planned where I will deposit my money. (They have a 0.5W IR led emmiter!)

I think you'd be better off with the senkat diode because it can output a lot more than that 100 mw laser from dx.
Here's a graph Hemlock Mike made of the senkat diode and an open can.
Note: The senkat diode is the Sony GB one.

Great! I ll go for the senkat's one! I now remembered that there's a thing called "Contact us" on stonetek's website, so I 'll find out about the shipping cost from there.

EDIT
Contact Us does not work...
