Wow . Learn something everyday. However, that is with a very powerful deep UV laser. I doubt 405nm 803t builds can ionize air. I was talking about Rayleigh Scattering.

I do believe 220-420nm @ 50mW is right up an 803's alley

Oh yeah! Sorry. I missed that. Huh, I guess it will work, I will have to try that. LOL ;D. However will ionized air help with visibility?

That depends if the light which you seek originates from the clouds :-/

I tried the DMM thing and.... No dice.

I'm not really surprised tho. I'm sure with the right meter or certain gasses it may work.

The multi-meter went crazy on the mV setting when I directly ionized the air around it though. ;D

it kinda depends, for my dilda, if you are outside you have to be directly behind it to see the beam, but inside you can see it from more angles.

I'm pretty sure they mean Megawatt, with a pulse time of 200 picoseconds it's pretty easy to achieve that kind of output power - so no, an 803t shouldn't be ionizing the air
