Hey everyone, This is my first 'offical' review so I hope it comes aout O.K.
OdicForce Lasers.
OdicForce Lasers is a U.K. based Laser company, Whom is a reseller of various lasers from China. There are a couple of reasons I chose this company over a chinese based company.
1. They are based in the U.K. So I know that I will recieve my product in a timely manner. I hate waiting for things to come in the post, and waiting for stuff from china can be a long wait. (especially during this time of year.) after being used to waiting a day or two for P.C. parts from the U.K.
2. I like to support local compinies. and am happy to pay a little extra for a product if i know its gonna arrive quick, and help support the local economy.
3.He checks all lasers for DOA or bad units and power checks all the more powerfull lasers for true output. (knowing the inconcistancy of chinese lasers.) So I know my laser will work right off the bat.
Customer service from OdicForce.
I called up the chap from OdicForce yesterday at about 4:30pm GMT to enquire if I order then, will it be posted the same day. And although he did not answer the phone, he returned my call almost instantly. and said if I place my order within the next 15 mins or so, it should be shipped today. He is a delightful chap to talk to, willing to answer all my questions no problem.
So I placed the order, which came to a total of £14 or so including royal mail first class recorded.
I then called at about 5:30pm to ask if my order made it in that days post. He said yes it went through fine and should arrive tomorrow. I told him I would post a review for both the laser, and OdicForce for his efforts. He mentiod about letting people know about his various focasable lasers he has on sale but said he did not have much time but will try and get round to it soon. I may poke him to do so as they look like pretty sturdy units with varous safety features.
Delivery.
The laser arrived about 40 mins ago with the royal mail guy hammering on my door. I signed and proceeded to take a pic before opening the package.
(BTW total time from placing the order to having it im my hands clocked in at about 16 hours. :gj
The product.
The laser came in a plastic presentation box held closed with a small magnet, and a alkaline battery for emmediate use.
So I put the battery in positive end towards the module and fired it up. I was very imppressed with the brighness of this tiny unit. It is dim for a fraction of a second before reaching full power with the encluded alkaline. So I then put an energizer lithium battery in and that went away.
I can see th beam in my living room now a little when looking paralell to it. The unit feels sturdy in the hands and the button has a solid feel with a satasfying 'click'. The battery threads is nice and stiff, so no accedentaly coming loose.
The chain an hook dont loko to be the best, but they can easly be replaced.
My overall opinion of thes unit is very good. this is my second green laser, and I think I like it even more than my DX true 20mW. I bought this mainly so I don't have to carry the DX around with me. The compact size make for great portability, with power enough to impress.
There are pics to come, but i need to do some editing first, they will be up shortly.
I also reccomend OdicForce to anyone in the U.K. looking for an alternative to the chinese websites.
That concludes my review for now, if I think of anything more it will be added.
If you have any questions, please ask away!!
Time to edit some pics.
Have a great day/morning/night everone!!
