I meant, that I hope the laser to emit < 489nm of light, since I am more fan of blue lasers.

Then you'll very likely be quite happy with your spiffy new laser; the first unit spectroed at 488.7nm and the replacement laser came in at 489.4nm.

I was enjoying mine earlier! My favorite color by far...and yes even at 66mw it
etched my initials on my dark wood desktop...very faintly!

I have a Sharp diode driven at 275 mA that measures exactly at 488nm with an acrylic lens at 135 mW output power. The part number is: GH04850B2G. I did a review of that with photographs of the build with bean shots.

I was not able to add this to my OP, so it goes here.

Remeasured power output (new LPM) was 78mW.
This measurement was made on a LaserBee AX 3.0 Watt Laser Power Meter w/Thermopile with known-good metrics.

Will 488 nm have a visible beam at only 5mw at night humid climate ?

But not travel too far or be visible from side ?
