Review of PGL III-C 473nm and 589nm

great photos
Thanks:D Im surprised they turned out as well as they did, they were all from my cellphone camera.

>80mW out of a 20mW rated blue! seems like there must have been a mislabel or something i bet That sure is nice to have such an over spec blue, I hope my 30 mW 473nm PGL is close to that, should be higher I'd think??? Guess I'll see once I get to check it tomorrow!

Yeah, I also think there may have been some type of mix up. A high peak is one thing, but to stay at more than double the rated output without any drops would be very rare in a true 20mW rated laser IMO. Im so glad I got the one I did though, at least it can keep up with my yellow! And I owe it all to Glenn:beer: without him, who knows. Sure is a great laser:D

UPDATE: Ive had my PGL-III-C 473nm 20mW rated for a month now, and I am posting back here with the latest power readings, which are higher than before, the peak now is over 80mW and it stays around 65+mw now, as before was closer to 50mW. Again guys, this 20mW rated laser has not dropped below 50mW ever since I got it(not counting dieing batts)

I may also upload a video to youtube and link it here so everyone can see the peak.

My 589nm is still performing beutifully as well, but I cant actually test it's power with my LPM I.

Here are some beam shots of the two....

Thanks:beer:

btw, kingdave did you buy the 589 from yobresal?

Yes, the 589nm came from yobresal, and the 473nm was from Glenn's GB. They are fantastic lasers, love em both.

EDIT: I took the beam shots with my DIY beam viewer/stop(water bottle filled with incense smoke, and a black stop at the end)

Oh man!! These lasers are pretty nice. I wish I have money to buy one. Very nice review.

Man that 589nm PGL III-C is amazing! Hypothetically speaking, if you were willing to part with it, how much would you want for it?

Thanks! The lasers are awesome and still doing great, the blue seems to get better with use.

Heh, there are more things to life than money my friend, like an 80+mW beam of 589nm lighting up the room:p

Did another power test today on my 473nm PGL-----This laser is amazing, I still cant belive how overspec it is, and it gets better with use:D

Wow the gold beam would make for a GREAT lumia wheel show... any suggestions on a good place to get one? 10mw should be bright enough...

I would say you should get one from Laserglow.com as they are a reputable laser company.
