Hey guys,

here is a review of my True 100mW Laser from DX. I recently sold it again - read here why.

Ordering:
I paid via PayPal and it took nearly one month to get it here to Germany.
The customs in Germany don't care about Lasers > 5mW, so it was no problem to ship it.

First look:
The laser came in a small, black box. AAA batteries included.
Material was okay, it had some scratches. I think you know those pen style laser hosts.

Beam:
In a little dark room, I made this beamshot:

Not bad.
Now lets take a look at the beam at night:

As this was my first laser, I was pretty amazed about that beam :)

Burning:
It pops a ballon (if balloons is not white) and does a little melting on black plastic.
Heres the melting of a CD case:
(Hell yeah my Ricoh CX1 Cam can catch that from 1cm very well)

I also tried to light a darkblue match, but that does NOT work. I tried various distances aswell, but nothing worked.
I guess the laser is underspec (like almost every laser DX sells) and has a bad focus.

Stability:
One word: Bad.
If I turned the laser in my hand, the battery was a little loose in the laser, so the dot immediately turned into a 5mW.

Conclusion:
I sold the laser recently, because of the bad output stability.
In addition its underspec and has a bad focus.
I would not recommend buying this laser.

I hope to get my RayFoss 50mW FLX soon. I will do a review, too :)

Is the laser focusable? If it's not then I wouldn't be very surprised it can't light a match because my 100mW green can't always light matches.
