Hi All,

I'm looking for red LDs that are > 500mW (prefer ~1W). Does anyone know where I can find one and what's the price range?

Thanks

c-mounts are about the only ones you will find. look on fleabay. theres usually lots on there cheap. only thing is theyre usually multimode. no good for stuff like pointers without correction optics.

You could go with an HL63133DG. It will look like a RED 660 at 500mW +

You might also try asking CNI about it. Here is a store that sells a 1W red laser, complete with PSU and modulation.

I hear the Beam and Divergence on that is HUGE because it is 4? diodes combined.

No. 4 single-mode diodes combined would have a much better beam than a typical multimode red.

For my RRGB projector I used two 250mW LPC-815 diodes drawing 800mA in parallel (approximately 400 mA each) for a measured total of 500mW light output. I used a PBS cube (MUST be polarized to combine beams) and mounting hardware from: Connecticut Lasers - www.ctlasers.com

I was looking at the O-like 1 watt red but it has much too large of a beam and would not work with the galvos in my projector. With two LOC red diodes and a PBS cube, I get perfect beam! See attached photos...
