red diode in ps3

Hi there,

Does anyone know any info on the red laser that's contained in the same can as the ps3's blueray laser?

Does anyone know its power rating? - is it powerful enough to burn things?

Is it possible to drive both at once?

What color would that be?

The color would be pink, but I honestly have no clue if you could drive both at once.

Actually, if anyone could do that, I'll buy one for my wife.

Yes, it's in the same can.

No, it can't burn, as it's <5mWs.

No, you can't lase them both at the same time. and I have no idea what the color would be if you could.

Well, technically, you could set both the diodes close together (as long as they had the same base divergence) and use an optical set up to merge them.

I've run them both together at low power. They can't be focused at the same time. Also, the red diode blows out at around 80 mA and could take the BR LD with it. Not worth the effort.
