So, I've been looking at the Lyra series for some time, and now I'm thinking about buying one. The only problem is that I'm not sure which model to get. Has someone on here had multiple models, and be able to tell me which is best? I'm mostly trying to decide between the Lyra-C and Lyra-G. Both look exactly the same, except one has a gold tip. I'm guessing the G has improved stability because it's newer, but I really don't know. :P I'm not interested in the Lyra-F because it's too much trouble to focus it all the time.

I know for sure that either one of them will be very stable. I opened up a Lyra recently and it had beefier crystals than your regular DX greenie. Plus wasn't heat sensitive and it never flickered. You will be happy with either laser.

Also, you may be able to get one of these for $20 in the current LG group buy.

My personal favorite is the Lyra-E (No longer available on the LG site, but you can get one in the LG GB), which is the typical CNI style black/gold pen laser. It feels great in your hand, doesn't overheat (Although I haven't had it on for more than a minute or two), no dimming, and is all around one of my favorite lasers.

I have the Lyra G5. It is an incredibly stable laser. I have had a few problems with it before, though. First is cleaning the lens. I, for my life, cannot get the aperture cap off. But I eventually got it clean with an alcohol swab. Second, is I once left it on in my pocket for about 5 minutes. Got very hot. But output looked as if it wasn't. And last, when batteries are low, the laser freaks out. It randomly flickers, and will get dimmer and brighter if I rotate the laser. I have never seen this laser mode-hop. As per why I got the gold version, it's because it was the only one in stock during the laser-day sale.

tl;dr :
GET IT!

Oh, and one more thing:
Get the pocket clip.

Sorry, but if you want an actual CNI pen, Justin says no more are on the list. Best Wishes! -Glenn

Thanks for all of your oppinions, I'm going to get the G. ;D The decription says it has a better beam, even though I'm sure they're both really good. Also, the coat on these are good, right? I would rather have the C if the black is going to start chipping off. I've had lasers that were probably dipped in rubber... Scratches right off. :'(

The coating is great. The only time I got a chip in the coating is when I accidentally slammed a stainless steel ruler into the center of the barrel. ::) And what "black" are you talking about? There's no black on the Lyra-G.

I'm not even going to ask how that happened. ;D Sorry, the pictures make it look charcoal colored. I'll get the G.

According to Laserglow, besides the F, they're all the same except looks. I eamailed them and asked awhile ago.
