Interesting idea. I think lack of available power is what saves these pens. The module inside, which looks like all the others, could be installed into a larger heatsink.
It would be interesting to see how it holds up in that configuration.

Keep us updated on this project. It's a neat idea as we get more power in our reds, a good source for green will be needed for the yellow and orange.
