Has anyone bought this laser what's it like?! I havn't being on rayfoss or laserpointerforums in a long time, just getting back into it.

I went onto rayfoss and saw a 1w red laser, is it worth buying, any opinions??

Thanks!!

That looks like the same thing Jetlasers sells. You would be much better off buying from them, Jetlasers service is amazing.

It's a cmount diode though, so the beam wont be the best. It says 1.7mrad on the specs sheet.

Whether it's worth buying or not is up to you and your wallet.

Edit:
Ask Hak about the Jetlasers one, I think he may have had one at one point.

Right i understand, actually a better investment might be o-likes 500mw crown upgrade green laser, that must be incredible but theres just something about having a 1w red laser hmm. . tough decisions :can:

Keep in mind 1mW 638nm is MUCH brighter than 1mW 650nm. The 500mW 638nm mits diodes can be pushed to 1W and it will be brighter than 1W of 650nm.

Yeah, that Rayfoss is an old Jetlasers PL-D which they do not even make any longer so not much chance of getting one unless it is left over from when they made them.

Check out the Jetlasers site for latest and greatest---they make a superior product. They can do a focusable PL-E 800mw 650nm --I asked not long ago.

JetLasers has super customer service as well.

The 638nm would be much brighter but the divergence would be very bad would it not? I never actually had a 635-638nm but i hear the beam spreads out a LOT even over short distances, has to be a compromise between a really bright laser and a distance beast!

I went onto Jetlasers but they are out of 650nm?
650nm Lasers - jetlasers

I'l contact JetL ask them about 650's

JetLasers does not have them listed but can ndo PL-E in both 638nm and 650nm.

As mentioned I checked recently and they can do 650nm 800mw no problem.

Happy to help --PM me.

BTW... call me a cranky old man or just maybe its a pet peeve-- but I am inclined to help quicker for anyone who can spare the time to go to thier profile page and place your LOCATION there...

It does make a BIG differance and I do understand that in some other forums it may not be the greatest idea , but for the life of me I do not see the need here at LPF to be not willing to do this.

At the very least give out the general location.

A fairly common occurance is getting a laser metered. I see members asking about that or saying since they CANNOT meter they an only guess at output.

....taking into consideration the size of LPF I doubt that there are many members who do not live close enough to help meter. It has been an unwriiten rule that doing this for a fellow member should alwaya be done free of charge.

LEMs are held all over the world- and there has been several meters at each one I have attended, where you can get ALL your laser metered-free.
Sending your lasers to a TRUSTED VET is another option- your only cost would be the shippings.

If selling or buying a laser send it to a vet who lives close to the buyer- the vet can meter it and sell it for you. In some cases the buyer can come to the vet- in person & see the laser working and buy it.

Screw Poop Pal.:tsk:

The new policies of FeeBay/poopal forbid any lasers more than 5 mW to be sold or bought- so a scammer can steal your laser very easily-- what are you going to do- ask PP to give you your money for a laser that they want nothing to do with??
