So i was planning on taking some video's and photo's tonight of lasers ''Doh'' *like i did in my avarter*

I was thinking about using line diffraction gratings and grid, etc...

Then i thought... wouldn't it be cool to film or shoot this from a distance when the laser is on a remote controlled tripod to level it up and down when for example using the line diffraction grating.

Walking back to the camera and laser from a distance can be a pain in the ''you know what''

I'm sure someone can make one out of RC parts + Tripod.

Would make some nice exposure effect shots for sure for example.

Ball bearings are allready on the tripods.
Some lasers have a jackplug mousetail option... so maybe this can be a option aswell to turn it on and off air wave controlled.

Good Idea ?

Hmm, we would need an inexpensive rc car/truck. Take servo for steering for left and right movement. Use drive servo (forward Reverse) for up and down. A slight change of gearing may be required but this should be easily accomplished! Wow you are giving me lots of ideas. We could use another motor to make a remote control auto focus as well! Omg this can be done extremely cheap! Greeting from the loonie bin!

You mean this?

Omg , I was starting to draw it out taking apart a small rc car I have here and that's just about right! LMAO More pics please! Need them ! lol
I would however put 360 degree swivel connectors on the wires so there is complete unending circular motion, but that's me! lol

Rather than ripping apart an RC setup, it might be easier to just buy/construct a nice pan/tilt/roll setups (2) and then hook the controls to a microcontroller + XBee wireless transmitter. Then hook the other XBee to a microcontroller or computer and control it from there.

Well, I could pick up a very cheap rc vehicle with remote for less than 20.00 . If I got two I could even rig auto focus and auto on as long as I had two channel controller. I cant see this costing more than 50.00 complete. Pan tilt roll chummy is like 500.00 . Lets make it cheaply and buy expensive lasers is the name of the game! Anyone can just buy it ! lol A Newfoundlander makes due with what is on hand and cheap. See my thread http://laserpointerforums.com/f44/modding-cheap-tripod-into-laser-holder-87795.html and sont laugh at me too much! lol Regards from the loonie bin !

I have already done this with a 1W 445 laser. The premise of the experiment was to build a XY laser pointer that can pop specific coloured balloons. I used a webcam to find the position of the balloon then send the XY laser pointer the position, move the pointer to that position and fire when the computer tells it to.

I might make a thread on it and try to polish the code up so others can use it.
