Question about old switches.

Hey friends!
I was hoping someone could help me out. One of my friends has a few mercury switches for sale and I'm interested in buying them. The problem is neither of us know what they generally self for.

So anyway here's a photo of them and hopefully someone could help.

Sorry, I guess it's my poor understanding of the English :o but I don't understand what is your specific question :D
 
Well, If he ask for the price, I've never bought separately, I don't know the price, but certainly looking on the internet will be easy to find.

I have always obtained this switches in old devices, such a thermostats, Pressure control devices, timers, Vibration Sensors, etc, etc.

In fact I have a few around.
 
We used to use those in some of the equipment that the Co. I work for manufactures, for self leveling and now that they are outlawed by the EPA we can no longer use them. When they were in their case with mounting hard ware they used to sell for $25. You can buy new smaller switches on Ebay for $6.99
