Hi i have some question about an lpc-826 diode.as i see its open can.i order one but it was dead as i receive it.i test it on low current and nothing.this happen before 6 months mabe.i try again today and i see that diode glow a red color on a very low current i tried!
So i connect a circuit on it and work it at 250mah and i see that was brighter but look like led!my question is i notice that diode is not bright from the front like close can but vertical.is this normal for this diode?if yes how you focus it?with normal aixiz module and plastic glass?
also what you suggest for biggest output between:
lpc815
lpc826
and lpc836???
also what is safe current for each one on aixiz module?

Re: question about LPC-826

i hope you had the diode in some sort of module. It will die quickly from overheating if not. you will need a lens for the output to look like a laser beam.

Yes I use an aixiz module.but I think that at 200ma should be brighter.mabe is already damaged?

Re: question about LPC-826

I am running mine a 500ma. 200ma might not be enough. At this point I would put the current at 400ma and see what happens. If it is not working than it is dead.

I am a little confused here you should have a lens in the aixiz module the you turn in or out to focus it... and what is plastic glass do you mean acrylic?

Re: question about LPC-826

Max current on the diode I use is 250ma.sorry I mean acrylic lens.the driver I use only output 250ma to the diode with a 3.7v input.you thing is not enough?About focus I could'n focus it!mabe diode is damaged?

250 mA should give a bright beam dot

Re: question about LPC-826

you may need to try more voltage, say around 5-9 volts. and make sure the lens isn't backwards.

Mabe diode is dead.at 250ma aixiz module become hot and light is very dimm.also is impossible to focus it with the lens.

Re: question about LPC-826

it is dead. how were you driving the diode? how do you know 250mA?

Please read the first post.i use a circuit I buy from eBay.but as I say at first post mabe diode was damaged when I receive it.i read 250ma with my multimeter connected in series with diode.i was carefull to discharge circuit and after turn on power when I disconnect diode so to put multimeter in series with diode.circuit come with adjust pot.

Re: question about LPC-826

you did say a circuit, but not what kind. do you have a link for it?

Re: question about LPC-826

I don't have a link as I buy it before a year.i buy 2 the other one I use it on a 300mw diode 780nm I think.
