Can someone recommend me a good host for my second laser? Its going to be running about 3.5 a if that helps at all. I was thinking the S4X host from survival laser (S4? Host Assembly), but Im wondering if there are other options, maybe cooler looking/still relatively cheap/ still easy to build? Thanks guys!

Try this link, he's got some very interesting hosts for sale. Some plug and plays also. http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/sale-thread-hosts-heat-sinks-focus-adapters-lasers-100082.html

I feel like an idiot, so please don't laugh at me... I looked at the hosts he posted and I can pick out a host and PM him?? Im just worried that I will not be able to assemble my laser as easy as my first build because every one of these special hosts is different. My C6 host was super easy to set up...

No worries, talk to him about one of his plug and plays. You just have to solder to wires together. Here's the website you'll need to order your diode/driver from, depending on which wavelength/color and power you want. Warning the higher power one are very dangous can blind someone instantly. Grab yourself some safety glasses in the correct wavelength, first. https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes

I contacted him and mentioned your name :yh:. Thanks for the help! if all else fails, I think I may just get the S4 host and deal with the shorter duty cycle.

Also, do you recommend quoting the person you are replying to when you post? I should start that habit if so

When someone jumps in the middle of a conversation like I am here you would want to quote the person your responding to. Also when responding to someone with lengthy details since the members could be adding responses to the thread while you're typing.

As dden said it's just a matter of politeness, letting the other person know your directing the conversation to them. :)

Yea, just trying to keep the conversation going. :)

Hi Ben,
I sent some pics of hosts i have to offer they can be made in copper or aluminum or aluminum with copper core pressed in. Prices vary due to material, size and time it takes to machine. Thank you for your interest ..

Rich:)

dden4012 How is your cat called?

Lol:crackup::crackup:

Now you've got me curious too:crackup:

But anyways, Ben, Lifetime will be able to help you out a lot. Your driver will most likely need heatsinking as well if you're gonna run it that high.
