Problem with blue laser

I'm in a panic! You sent the diode 15 December. Today is 23 December. I haven't get my diode yet!! Why EMS is so slow?!
There are -30 degrees Celsium outdoors. The festival will be move to 28 December. Can I get my diode?
 





As I said when you first contacted me shipping times do slow down this time of year and getting it to you would be real tight unless we went with a shipper like FedEx but the price was too high. I am really hope that it does show up for you in time to get your project ready.:beer:
 
@Garadlans2. If it helps normal shipping (std postal service) to Poland from the US usually takes around 9 days, but as DTR said it could take longer at this time of the year...Good luck, I hope you get it in time! :beer:
 
Not sure how it was shipped but USPS Express Mail is what you call EMS in Russia and is very expensive approx $40 for a padded envelope---if it went International Priority Mail or regular air mail it can take 10 days or longer especially at this time of year.

Do you have a tracking number to be able to see where it is? If not it did not go Express Mail/EMS which always has a tracking number.

Today I get my laser diode. 26 DAYS!!!! 26 days I have been waiting my purchase!!! EMS Russian post is the worst post service in the world!!! :(
The festival was 28 December. My pupil won the second prize and a ticket in the Prague sanatorium for talented children. I'm very glad for my pupil. Thank you for you attention and understading again! We used usual laser pointer but could win and prove to the jury that our work is worthy of attention. Now we want to use diode and present our project in Prague. But this laser diode is not so brightly how first and light with strange strip in the middle. Why?
 
Post a picture of the output?

Or if that's not possible, say what you mean in russian (I'll translate for others), because I really can't understand what you mean by "strip" in the middle.

You can try imageshack or other picture host to upload if you are having trouble attaching directly. You say it seems week. What driver are you using and have you tested it on a test load to confirm it is supplying enough current with the way it is set and the power source it is using?
 
Check that the lens is clean, and that the diode window are both clean.

Sometimes, very rarely there are diodes that produce basically two beams, but this is very rare.

When focused to a dot you shouldn't be able to notice the a blacked out area.
 
This one was not producing two beams. On replacement units like this one I document the testing on it. I will dig up the picture of the testing when I get home. This diode made a nice clean and bright output.:beer:

So far there have been only 1 or 2 diodes like that posted about it I think. Never seen it myself obviously...

Much more likely something is on the lens, or diode window.
 
I have seen it in a few diodes where one of the lines blew out but the rest were lasing leaving a gap. Most the time a spike that can blow one out will blow them all out but not always.
