Price of Jet Lasers PL-C 445nm 1W ?

Sorry... wanted to learn french at one point... but never got around to it.

The current model of the laser uses a lens that is not ideal for such a powerful laser.

Future models will have a different lens. So in this laser.. the one you got... I would advise you to keep the lens clean - if there is dirt lens will heat up faster - and to also not abuse the laser by running it for long periods of time.

If you do end up ruining the lens, you can get a replacement cheap though.

OK thank you for the info :thanks:
You say the acrylic lens? And after it is not possible to change for better?

From the info given to me--- a lens not made of glass can become darkened by the heat of the 445 diode. And when the lens gets darker the heat effects it more. And then it can darken even more until the lens absorbs so much heat it can melt or deform(change in shape). If you see a change in the laser this may be telling you that it has begun to darken or melt. You need to stop using the laser and replace the acrylic lens with a glass lens. Until you change to a glass lens I would say to you -do not use the laser for long times. Keep it cool but using for very short times with time to cool before using again. 30 seconds on and then one minute off would be very nice for your new laser.

Most laser makers using a lens that is not glass will change to glass lens soon. The AixiZ glass lens is about 10$ and the same one can be gotten from O-Like Company and others also.

The pattern heads are 'lenses' you can change to make different patterns and these will look nice when their is much moisture in the air--like a night with fog or around smoke. The beams are much easier to see when there is fog.

I hope this has been helpful.

Please ask more questions if you want. We do not like to see anyone damage thier lasers.

cheers--halzaw

Hakzaw1 OK, now I understand much better what you said earlier, sorry for my English, and if I have delayed answering it for the time difference between USA and France ... :tired:
