If you want the experience of being shocked, the nearest I came was turning the spindle of a 240V motor (11rpm rated, from a microwave) at about 30RPM and then slipping and touching the output terminals. My hand was numb for several minutes, and that must have been next to no power compared to mains. The odd thing was that I could "feel" the phase from the motor, like a juddering sensation through my hand.
