Hey, we recently got a 1973 merc 280ce and restoring it has been great fun :)

Now, I would like to see some of your unique cars... and, they don't have to be from the 20th century :D

The merc has under 100,000 miles on it because my fathers friend (who sold it to us) has barely used it so as a result it was left in a garage for 23 years and annualy serviced.

Wow! very nice Mercedes! great pics! I'd gladly put up a picture if i had a unique car in the first place. I'm pretty sure an 85 toyota 4runner wouldn't be very interesting to look at. Plus your photography skills are much better than what i could do w/ what i've got.

Thanks for the compliments mate :) Glad to see you enjoyed the pics!

Heres another pic of the interior...

Nice "strichachter" aka /8... good old German engineering!:kewlpics:

Hey my dad an I did the same thing with a Fiat 124.

It was meant to be my first car... but when dad got an offer for $24,000 he couldn't resist selling it :D

Wow, nice!!

Theres something about old cars that makes me grin :D

Those wheels were off a 2000 model lotus IIRC. Plus there are other parts of the car that are brand new.

Mixing old with new makes it look exciting.

ferd - you are limiting yourself uneccessarily...drive your toyo through a nice big mud puddle and stop at the end for a picture of it with the slop coming off. THAT would be a great picture of someone using their truck for what it was intended. Always makes for a great pic ! Waaaaaaay better than those pavement hugging chromed lowrider abominations that waste a good truck.
If you want to add to it get a buddy to take a pic WHILE you are driving through the puddle too ! Standing just off centre from the front showing the splash propagating from the truck in the center of the picture. Lots of potential there. Don't think otherwise !

Lazers - Nice piece of German engineering you have there. Treat her right and she will take care of you for many many years. But be forewarned, the moment you stop your preventative maintenance the trouble will bite you hard ! (I love driving those expensive German cars but I also worked in a dealership where even the mechanics wouldn't own them because they are hard/expensive to work on !)

Bobhaha - Love those seventies style cars. The 4 headlights, the cool body lines, the hints of round aerodynamic curves in a time when everything here in North America was boxy and square...so sleek and sexy !

My first car was a 1974 Datsun 710. A solid beater that ended up being a reliable driver for almost 10 years to me. I went from a dealership (where I bought the trade in off the lot) through the time I was an auto painter where I got to put a little something special into `er, and beyond. If I can find some old pics I will try to scan them in to post them here.

Here are my unique toys. A first model year 1982 V45 Magna a first model year Non tariff 1986 VFR750 only made 2 years and soon to be rare VFR1200 only made 1 year

Here's mine, the one and only G5 GXP :D

G5-1.jpg

It's basically a G5 except I pulled everything from an SS Cobalt and made the awesome G5 that Pontiac never made. I'm still looking for a complete supercharger setup off of a cobalt or ion redline to finish her up.

My LSX V8 S10 is in the background there. I have the engine in there as well as the driveline (Using the AWD setup from an Olds bravada, the same AWD setup the Syclone and Typhoon used )

Now I need to finish fabbing some longtube headers, all the wiring for the FI and a few mods to the motor (cam swap, mild port job, thinking about decking the heads at work to lower my CR...) It'll be a 500HP beast that will actually hook when I'm done with it :p

And here's my bike, nothing special really. I have learned to get my knee down through the corners though, and am VERY depressed that it's starting to get cold out :cryyy:

Plus there's some heavy CNC equipment in the background there. That lathe on the right made all of the recent Kryton Grooves (plus the copper modules in my sig :D )
