Possibly impossible?

One of the compass lasers would be very nice...if I could get it at the right price 8-)

I'd like to try building an external cavity laser just for the challenge, but I think I'll try to re-gas my HeNe too. I was getting 57mW the last time I filled it (~15 years ago) but its barely lasing now and flickers. (guess I need to remove it from my sig')

The seal-off stem is too short now to be useful so I'm gonna have to try adding a new one to the tube without cracking anything. It's tough to find an annealing oven big enough for a 6 foot long tube but maybe I can work with one of the glass artists in Portland to add the new stem.

+rep for the suggestions and links. Thanks!

Good luck, WizardG. It nice to see another holographer on this forum. There are many more option available to us that weren't around in 1980 when I started making my own. I remember the Kiss II in the physics building at Lamar University back in 1974, IIRC. That was a nice piece of holographic work back then.
