Possible to burn through shutter?

I noticed that some of the more powerful and bigger lasers have a shutter on them (hulk,rpl,alpha,NOVAseries, Hercules,ect.) would it be possible to accidentally burn through the shutter on any of them depending on the power? or is it made of something the lasers can't burn?

Well, Id guess it's not made of plastic since the big ones would burn it instantly.Probably aluminum or some other metal anyway. :-/

It would be made of metal, most likely. I'd like to see even the >500mw RPL/hulk try and get through that!!

#1--- It isn't usually focused that close.
#2--- The metal vapors would likely damage the lenses before it got through.
That's why I don't light matches too close to the output of a laser.
