Posi-taps/locks instead of solder on diode?

Do you guys think that using posi-locks on the diode instead of solder for a first time build would cut the possibility of heating up the diode? Or would it not even work?

I recently built my first laser a PHR-803T Blu-Ray and I did not have any problems soldering the diode with LEADED solder and a 30W soldering iron so I would say it would be easier to solder it. Mine when soldered while in an aixiz module barely got warm to the touch. Soldering should not be a problem.

Instead of trying to find a way around it, why don't you just take a little time to learn how to do it? Get the equipment, materials, and a couple of old PCB's. View a tutorial or two on YouTube. Then practice on the PCB's until you can confidently solder a joint in less than a second.

You're going to end up spending the time getting and figuring out how to use the "locks" anyway. Why not get some life-long value for your effort.

You could learn this in less than a week.

Good advice from Dave there...

Plus, it is very important to never have a bad connection between the diode and the driver. If there is, the driver cap will charge and kill the diode. That's why it is better to always use solder.

And as Dave mentioned, it is really not that hard to learn. Especially with some good video tutorials that can be easily found...
