I just got my issue of PopSci today and actually this is the ATL (Advanced Tactical Laser) and not the ABL:

This isn't the new article but just some older info on the ATL. It is a smaller and a little less powerful than the airborne laser and designed more to hit stuff on the ground, but can also be used for destroying missiles.

i wish lasers would just stay in labs or in hands of a guy who just wants to play with it.

if they start doing these kinds of things, lasers will start to be banned from everyday life for normal people..

You say that as if your average hobbyist can afford a chemical laser.
