Trump is trying to get $230 million in contravention to the Domestic Emoluments Clause of the Constitution. While the Foreign Emoluments Clause can be overridden by Congress, the Domestic one cannot.

Two House Democrats have asked the Trump administration to turn over copies of President Trump's claims totaling about $230 million for damages over the past criminal investigations into Mr. Trump before the 2024 election.
Trump can file a claim if he wants to, he's been the victim of political lawfare via. democrat weaponization of our government, agencies and courts.
Democrats can ask for information.

Trump still can't get reparations while he is president. That is totally illegal. Even if he does, the next administration will hold him to answer. They will claw back every penny.
