This right-wing SCOTUS has gotten many things wrong. Going after the VRA is among those. This is a law protecting minorities that states like Texas try to disenfranchise. This backed up the 14th and 15th Amendments.

California has only put the prop 50 in front of voters there in response to Trump's Texas redistricting. And, Indiana has an appeal to citizens there to wait until after the next election before they can change anything there. All they need is 110,000 signatures. They already have a good start after the No Kings Rally.

Trump hits Russia with ‘tremendous’ oil sanctions.​

On Wednesday, the president announced that the US would target two of Russia’s biggest oil companies, Rosneft and Lukoil, to degrade the Kremlin’s ability to fund its war with oil sales.

The European Union also announced sanctions on Russia, including a ban on the import of liquefied natural gas. The natural gas ban will phase out imports rather than halt them immediately.

The EU also imposed new travel restrictions on Russian diplomats in the Schengen Zone and prohibited another 117 ships in Russia’s shadow fleet, a clandestine armada of tankers that ships oil in breach of Western sanctions, from accessing EU ports.

The US sanctions are the latest sign of a shift in Trump’s relationship with Putin, which soured on Monday after the Russian president refused to accept America’s terms for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

“Look, these are tremendous sanctions,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “These are very big ones that are against their two big oil companies, and we hope that they won’t be on for long. We hope that the war will be settled.”

He added that the sanctions were designed to push Putin back to the negotiating table.

Illegal immigrant trucker accused in fatal California crash released by Biden admin after 2022 border crossing.​

A 21-year-old illegal immigrant from India who crossed the southern border in 2022 and was released by the Biden administration is now accused of causing a fiery semi-truck crash that killed three people in Southern California.

According to federal sources, the suspect, identified as Jashanpreet Singh, was first encountered by Border Patrol agents in California's El Centro Sector in March 2022, and released into the interior of the country pending an immigration hearing.

Singh has now been arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated after plowing his big rig into slow-moving traffic on the I-10 Freeway in San Bernardino County.

California has given commercial driver's licenses to unqualified illegal immigrants resulting in fatal crashes before, this is not the 1st time.

Homeland Security says 100,000 undocumented immigrants arrested in Florida.​

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced on Monday that over 480,000 undocumented immigrants have been arrested nationwide in a series of operations targeting criminal activities.

During a press conference in Sarasota, Noem provided updates on the Trump administration’s efforts to apprehend undocumented immigrants involved in serious crimes like drug trafficking and murder.
