Hello

I got a LYLASER 302 100mw green laser, and I put 2 CR123 batteries in it. It worked awesome for 30 mins, then I left to eat dinner. I came back, turned it on, then the laser came on for a split second then turned off. It emits a faint red light. I waited 15 minutes, then the green light came back on much fainter. Now it is back to the very faint red light. Yeah yeah, i know its harmful so dont tell me that, I just want to know if i need to let it sit for a while. I read a post with a situation similar to mine and the person was told to let it sit because the crystal may have overheated. I waited a very long time for this laser, I hope it isn't ruined. Pardon my typos if there are any.

There are many reputable companies listed on the forum such as here and if you choose to go against what is said and get a "bargain laser" from some sort of chinese wholesale you will get a p.o.s so don't complain and next time order from a more reputable company.

p.s. Your laser is most likely dead (did you try charging the batteries?) if the batteries are fully charged then it is dead.

When you say it worked for 30 mins, do you mean a single session that was around 30 mins long? If that's the case it most likely has overheated. Most lasers need very short duty cycles.

You may also want to check your batteries and recharge them, but since it's putting out the faint red light it is producing IR, so I don't know if that will help or not, but it's worth a shot.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but chances are this is shot. If 30 minutes of cool down time didn't help, more won't do anything. I'd double-check and recharge the batteries but it sounds like your laser died. :/
Also, I know you know but avoid the faint light, most blind spots I've heard about are caused by people who think they know what they're doing pointing the faint light in their face. Just don't want to hear about an accident is all, not worth losing vision over a $30 laser, ya know?
Best of luck,
-Z

Edit: phones are freaking slow.
