As promised I looked through my stuff and the bottom line is I only have a couple pen lasers that meats the criteria of just over 100mW subtracting the IR and I would thus not part with them anyways. All the rest I have are ones I purchased from laserbtb or someone else and are the ones I would "never" sell. I have others that would be over 100mW but they are not in the pen format so no dice there.
Are you certain the Styro one is scratched up? I cant tell that from the picture. I don't know about the optotronics one being sold and wether that one is scratched up or not. They are your best bets as far as getting an actual pen that outputs in hte 150-200mW area.
Don't be so quick to write off the O-like stuff. I've been satisfied with the things I've purchased from them and I would definitely NOT assume that the 400mW one they are selling will not meet its over 350mW rating. That being said, I don't know how it would output that much with the working current at under 500mA. My bet is they screwed up on that one and it's closer to the 200mW that you are looking for. The crown upgrade 500mW says it draws a couple amps in comparison. I know that I'm not the only one that got a crown upgrade 500mW 532nm from them and it was way overspec and a very nice looking unit. It's $240 right now. Show me someone else selling a legit class 4 532nm for that much.
I bought a wide beam 532nm from them just like this one that was over 100mW but now they seem to only have a 50mW one:
This red one was bought by a couple of us and we both measured just over 200mW and was only $26
Could have sworn a few people bought the 1W waterproof blue one for $55 but I never heard any review on it:
Honestly though the star of the specials is that crown upgrade 500mW 532nm even if it ended up below spec a bit for $240 They spec it at over 450mW. You can always ask if they guarantee that output.
I digress though. It's not easy to find a 532nm pen in the 150-200mW range now like it used to be.
If the module that Red bought can really output that high then that's the way to go if you have no interest in the 2 pens being sold right now. I have to believe my friend Red is telling the truth as I trust him. I just find it very hard to trust a seller that he actually has one that high. I'm assuming that includes the IR content. The question is do you actually own that module RED? Will add that laserlands has been OK by me so far and has a lot of great deals on the lower output diodes that we build with. I posted those bargains somewhere in another thread but I'm not sure anyone was really paying attention.
