Just got back a couple of hours ago from seeing Roger Waters in concert. Words cant explain the mind altering show I just experience. I laughed, cried, yelled, sang, and had a few outer body experiences. They did the Wall album with the complete theatrical show. Unbelievable. If you like PF you cannot miss this show at any cost. I'm not hyping this, you have to see it to believe it. Back in 1980 they only did a limited amount of The Wall shows because it was to costly. So this will be a one time event only. Beg, borrow, or steal, and see this show.

As we drove to the concert a huge white bus without markings passed us. I told my GF it was the bands bus obviously. They usually stay far from the concert hall, so people cant find them, and harass them at the hotel. And believe me, people look for them. She didnt believe me. When we got to the concert, low and behold the bus was parked in the back stage parking lot of the concert hall. The concert ended, and we sat in bump to bumper traffic. all of a sudden the bus pulls just a few cars ahead of us in the traffic. I'm thinking there is no way we are going to get close to it. Out of the blue the car in front of us pulls right, just behind the bus, and we pull right next to it!!! All the windows are totally dark and you can just barley see the guys. I start whistling, waving the peace sign at the bus as we edge forward. As the traffic on the busses side moves forward past us, I look up at the last window as it passed, and someone turned a light on and was waving the peace sign back at me. I dont know if it was Roger, but at that point I didnt care. I was elated.

Its one of those things that you had to be there. And if you know anything about Roger is he's all about peace.

Truly one of the top 5 good times I've ever had. Dont miss out. You'll be thanking me later.

Looks like quite a show to say the least. I have seen many classic acts, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones,Humble Pie,Jethro Tull,Robin Trower etc., but not PF yet. I'll be checking out their show dates. Thanks for the heads up!

Edit: Found it..........San Jose HP Pavilion Dec. 7 $115.00(Nose bleed seating)

I really want to get tickets to this, unfortunately the site that sold tickets crashed due to the traffic and they were sold out in under half an hour.. There was no way we could've bought it.. :( Also I have to take the airplane to get to the nearest city that shows it, Oslo.

Pink Floyd are my all-time favourite band, however I don't think The Wall is nearly the best album they have.

And it sucks that Gilmour and the gang don't show up :(

I paid $320 when I saw Floyd in '97.

Its well worth it if you are Floyd fan. You wont see this again.

Gilmore showed up at the Friday night show here. I wish I had the money to see all the 3 nights.

PF is great, the wall just got kind of ruined for me by having our high school teacher analysing his way through it. The album turns rather depressing once you go through it slowly enough to get the English lyrics.

The closest I have been to stardom were standing backstage during a Runrig concert.
Runrig is a Scottish band and world famous in parts of Denmark. :)

Congrats on a great experience. :)

Love me some PF. They are right up there with Led Zeppelin, Lynard Skynard, Neil Young, CCR, and Beatles in my book.

I love Pf! I wish it was coming to Utah, I would go.

I have met a few famous people like; Vanhalen Sammy and DLR, Mick Fleetwood, Robert Redford, Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood adn Arnold Schwartznegger.

My cousin used to run sound boards for Vanhalen at concerts in the early 80's. Mick F at a party in Lake Tahoe and the rest in Sun Valley Idaho.

That's awesome. I wonder if they have hit St. Louis yet:thinking:

I'm gonna look into that.:thanks:

Best time I had at a concert was Jimmy Buffet 94 or 95. My buddy won a guitar contest hosted by a local radio station and got to play with him. We all got to go backstage and meet him after the concert.

The Wall got me into PF. I got burnt out too, and its the least played PF album in my collection. But, this concert brought me back to the very first day I heard the album. I was truly floored. It is a dark album. Its about war, the loss from it, bad relationships, drugs, drinking, being a rock star, mother issues, and everything else that make a person shield themselves from the world by a wall. But in the end he tears down the wall. So it about triumphing through adversity too, and thats the true point of the album.

When we saw PF in '97 we went out to eat, and on the way back back stopped at one of the blocked entrances outside of the stadium for some reason. Out of the blue these 2 security guards came out, open the blockade and the bands bus pulled up, and went though. We all stood there with our mouths open. Didnt see anyone though.

I gotz good PF Karma.

The last concerts I went to was Boston and the next night Fleetwood Mac, in Portland, OR. Saw Roger Waters in 2000, he did a little of everything and it was great! He puts on a one hell of a show! Wish I could go see this tour! The Wall is one of my favorites.

Thanks for sharing this T_J!

If you cant make the show, check this guys videos out. They are the best quality I can find on the web ATM.

In a few weeks I'll jump on the boot circuits I belong to, and grab a HQ DVD. I'll let you guys know, and if you want one I'll send you a copy.

The only band i've seen on Par with PF is Jefferson Starship, 2002 (I think) down in London, Actually passed Paul Kanter a doobie :) saw them in Wolverhampton in 2004 and got 2 of my Vinyl Song sheets signed by him too :) I did get Slick Agulairs Pleck, caught it right in front of this girls face, she looked so annoyed I just gave it to her

Would love to see PF tho

I dont know how to comment on that. Have you actually been to a PF show? With the multi-million dollar stage show? State of the art, cutting edge visual/audio effects?
Ranking 5th in the greatest bands of all time? Darkside of the moon ranking 1st in greatest album of the '70s, and 2nd in the top 10 greatest albums of all time, appearing in 551 of ALL the greatest album charts created? 17 of their albums appears in the greatest albums of all time charts? This PF?

Jefferson Airplane ranked 250 in over all band rankings, with the best album ranking 288, in once again, over all album ranking. Jefferson Starship, and Starship are not even listed.

USATODAY.com - 'We Built This City' ranks as the worst record ever

'We Built This City' dubbed worst song ever - Entertainment - Music - TODAYshow.com

That was done by Starship aka Grace Slick and was her project, this didn't even slightly reflect the work she done in JA/JS

The whole stage show was part of the act for PF it enhanced the music not that it needed enhancing but for me JA are one of my favorite bands up there with PF just my opinion doesn't matter about rankings at the end of the day or if I'm right or wrong thats the way I see it ;)
