Definitely. This may not be causing the dimming problem, but it probably is causing the heating problem.

kk! thanks for the responses...ill be striping those components out, or at least "burn" them...
ill also try to get a new set of wires, cuz this wires dont seem appropriate (are those 'p' right?)

And i think ill get 2 toothpicks with the exact length from that PCB to the heatsink, so everything sits tight the next time, because without something pushing the heatsink+diode out, it rattles a lot and gets retracted and twists when i try to focus.

The heat sink should have come with a thick, rubber o-ring. The o-ring replaces the skinny o-ring at the front of the head (that used to hold the lens in place). There is a small groove just at the front edge of the head. The heat sink should actually be pressing up against the o-ring. It is the o-ring that keeps the heat sink from turning and rattling.

If you cannot find an appropriate one there, I can mail you one. However, you will have to wait for it to arrive

exactly! it is pressing against the o-ring. The only problem is it doesnt have anything pushing the heatsink out, so if i just slightly press the laserhead it retracts into the flashlight, or when i turn the focusing ring, it twists a bit with it

The original o-ring is too small. Did you replace the o-ring? Did your heat sink come with a larger o-ring?

The full-bodied heat sink, like you have, will fit tightly between the top of the body and the o-ring.

You should not be able to press it down into the head when it is assembled. It should not turn or rattle in the head.

If you have replaced the o-ring with a thicker one (that came with the heat sink) maybe you are not screwing the head down tight enough

Theres the problem where we were miscomunicating xD, i didnt buy the full body one...i bought the one that only sits around the aixiz+diode, without the screwable part of the aixiz. The tiny one. But now i regret that...

Sounds like you didn't tighten the set screws.....

So that is not your video?

You are using the simple ring heat sink and using the "pill" to fill the space leftover?

If so, all of my questions and comments still apply with the addition of adding Zaery's comment.

You should still need to replace the o-ring. Only now the heat sink will fit tightly between the top of the "pill" and the o-ring.

Well, its the dark horse dorcy jr heatsink, simple ring only. It has 2 set screws (i guess both of them are for the aixiz module), and they dont let the aixiz move at all.

So when you mention the pill, you are talking about the thing that had the LED, with the star piece and one spring?? I still have those around, but i dunno if they are still useable.

I did almost like that youtube clip, just i have nothing between the PCB and the heatsink. The only thing that was pushing the heatsink out and press it against the o-ring (yes i did replace it) was the drag resistance of the wires.

Yeah. In your laser it would only be used a a spacer, so it doesn't matter if it "works" or not. In your laser you could even use a dowel with the center drilled because you don't need the electrical path to go via it. The way you have yours set up (with wiring) you may have to drill the center of the pill to let your wires through. You just need something for the body to screw up against and push the heat sink into the o-ring hard enough to hold it steady.

I use a different method, because I like the additional heat sinking

I use a second heat sink and part of the rear portion of the aiXiz to push the front heat sink up against the o-ring. Mine needs to be metal because I use the host as my negative path. The driver sits inside the aiXiz with the contact spring soldered to the driver.
